I’ve had this vacuum for a little over 3 years now and it is still going strong; it is the best vacuum I’ve ever owned bar none. When it goes I will get another Shark, this model if it’s still available. I cannot say enough good things about it. I do the filter changes within the recommended time frames that I’m supposed to and honestly the motor is just so powerful and the suction has stayed just as strong as when I first bought it. Off-brand filters are incredibly easy to find as well and are very reasonably priced. The attachments that come with the vacuum are incredibly versatile and well made. The wand release and lift away feature are so helpful with getting stairs. All of the bristles on the main brush are still very together and firm there’s absolutely no wear on them or fraying. Some people like to say ” they don’t build them like they used to” about a lot of consumer products out there. Well… those people would be wrong about this vacuum this is probably one of the best things you can buy for your household and count on it to work reliably day after day year after year. I would also like to add that I have been a bit rough with this vacuum like I am not a delicate person I’ve slammed this thing around a bit. am I the only person out there who really puts their rage and emotion into their vacuuming? I seriously doubt it but let me tell you this vacuum can handle just about anything you can throw at it. Also, I love how easy it is to clean hair and strands of fiber or string out of the main brush roll with the rich grooves that they’ve created in the brush roll itself so that you can slide a sharp pair of scissors or a knife into the groove and cut the fibers or hairs and then pull them out from the brush roll. It’s really hard to understand why all vacuums aren’t designed the way that this one is and have the features that this one does and have the kind of quality that the shark vacuum does. I swear that I’m not a bot or some kind of like salesperson for shark this is just really an awesome vacuum and I could rant about it all day because out of all the things that I use in my house on a daily basis this is probably my favorite and not only that but it actually looks nice too. you know how a lot of things that are white plastic that you buy get that ugly yellow dinge within a short amount of time? This vacuum is not in that category mine still is the same nice white color It had when it was purchased. All of the rubber and silicone dust seals and the places where different components of the vacuum that are removable meat are still very well sealed and there are no air leaks in the hose either I swear to God this vacuum is like a miracle that something this could can actually exist. Most stuff made out there by most companies whether it be cell phones or cars are designed to break I feel like within a few years. Maybe I just somehow got a magical vacuum that was like blessed by you know the goddesd of home economics or something but in all seriousness BUY THE VACUUM.

Quality, ease of use & assemble, price, versatility all excellent. My only complaint is its front is big so you can’t get under furniture, but other than that I’m extremely pleased. It makes cleaning enjoyable and not in cumbersome. The attachments are easy to put on and use. Great suction too.

Today we used this vacuum cleaner, we had waited until there was alot of dog fur on the carpet and other areas of the home. It worked really well, and was much easier to use than our old Dirt Devil. The only issue I have is wish the power cord was longer. I had to empty the container about 4 times but the carpet is much cleaner. We did use the attachment for cleaning chairs and sofa it worked great and love the feature to just release the handle and place the attachment on it. Would recommend this product.

Works like a charm. Easy to clean! Cord length is good. The suction power is great. I use it on our hardwood floor. Picks up all the dirt.

… I’ve had A LOT of vacuums. Of the SERIOUS one’s:- The Original Dyson Animal (pricey but perfect. I killed it via massive overuse, only to find Dyson stopped making them in favor of The Ball 👍. So…- The Dyson Animal BALL (Effective suction [the hose, like with the original Animal, REALLY REACHES up to my stair landing easily, and collapses back neatly – perfectly designed👍] but the ball is clunky, hits everything, is heavy, and difficult to maneuver. Just using it is a shoulder-injuring workout👎.- The original Shark Navigator (white with gold trim…), DESTROYED an expensive area rug when it’s superior suction pulled a yarn right down the middle. Then it mysterously died👎- Then we can group all the others here (Bissel, Dirt Devil, Eureka … None could be considered serious cleaners👎).Gotta give a shout-out to the Bissel Featherweight for fast, efficient use when picking up kitty litter, etc. on hard floors. A super bargain, considering how IT gets in corners and up against baseboards in a way no BIG vac can. Too bad it’s useless on carpet😪Then, I took a chance and got one of these. THIS VACUUM IS FAR AND AWAY MY VERY FAVORITE SERIOUS VACUUM!* I had been using the Dyson Ball on my first floor but, then, warily (thanks to my prior negative Shark upright experience), bought this white and red Shark vacuum for my upstairs, based on reviews. For over a year it has been a dream and continues to work beautifully – and it has adjustable suction! It has been perfect in nearly every way, so when I had no choice but to recruit a vac for my permanent use in my unfinished basement, I chose the Dyson for that job and went looking to buy, I hoped, the exact same Shark vac I was already using for the upstairs. Fortunately, I found it here and hope to have it by tonight or tomorrow. I got the white Shark with red trim (the teal shown as an option is NOT the same so I won’t vouch for it, especially after my 1:1 Shark brand experiences!). It’s as close to a perfect vacuum as I’ve ever owned. I strongly recommend it but, if you notice the (*) I used twice, I DO wish the folks at Shark would offer the vac with a traditional handle instead of the loop. When using the hose, the loop handle really hurts my hand and makes the hose difficult to control and “steer.” As I write this I’m thinking I hope I can get used to the loop handle when using to hose on the stairs of my foyer…😒

A little background. I live with two cats. I have both hardwood floors and carpet. My furniture is velour with soft cushions. I use Tidy Cats clumping litter for two litter boxes. Tidy Cats is a round pellet type litter and it gets everywhere. The cats, while short haired, shed quite a lot and I’ve only just been keeping up with the shed fur with regular vacuuming, grooming and sticky rolls. In short I desperately needed a new vacuum, but which one? I could take out a thirty year mortgage and buy a Dyson, but everything I’ve read says that there are several very good alternatives available to this. Ok, so once again, which one? After reading Micheal Flux’s(thanks Michael!) review and the fact that it’s almost less than half the Dyson DC41 Animal Complete I decided to purchase the Shark. This is going to be in initial review of the machine, I’m hoping to update it as I use it more and more.First of all, I was surprised at how easy it was to put together. The unpacking took more time than the actual assembly. Second, the tools it came with are not only functional, but easy to maintain. The pet tool for example has an access hatch that allows you to clean or free anything caught on the brush. Lastly, it’s lighter than I expected. I know that this may seem like a small thing, but after using it to clean my entire apartment I was glad for the lighter poundage.Ok, so now it’s set up and we’re ready to clean. It’s very quiet as compared to my other vacuum. The swivel feature takes a little getting used to, but once you do this machine is just fantastic on floors. Cleaning up errant cat litter on hard surfaces or carpet and in between every little nook and cranny this vacuum took it all up and left nothing behind. Now it’s not a miracle machine. I did have to go over some of the carpet areas more than once. Next I used the flexible brush wand to “dust” a bit. Window sills, curtains and ceiling corners were all left behind clean. I was impressed. But how well will it perform on my furniture. I eased into using the pet tool by vacuuming my recliner. It’s a smoother cloth and the pet tool did remarkably well. No hair left behind. Ok, onto the couch and loveseat. Both collect a ton of pet hair. I put the pet tool to work and got the seat cushions and the arms of the couch. The tool is a bit large and can be tough to negotiate, but the learning curve isn’t steep and I was soon cleaning everything well. On the softer back cushions it took several passes, but I expected that seeing as how the cushions are soft like pillows. I very much doubt that even the Dyson could have picked up every hair in one pass. It took a bit of time for me to finish both and as I later looked at them there was still a bit of hair on the back cushions, but I believe that to be my fault and not the vacuums.I only emptied the canister once and while it was nearly full the vacuum never hinted that it was running out of suction. It was easy to dump and then seal back up.Ok, now for the super final test. I pulled off my shoes and socks to see if I had missed anything and to see how well my new vacuum had performed. I walked everywhere I vacuumed and didn’t step on one loose piece of litter. Wow!! Ok, now I’m impressed. I figured the carpeted areas would be ok, but hard floors can be difficult. I had to use a swiffer dry just to get all of the litter out of the corners when using my old vacuum. I was really impressed with the job it did on my floors. So, if you’re in the market for a powerful versatile vacuum, take a serious look at the Shark.December 16, 2012 ******UPDATE!!******So after a few weeks with the Navigator I wanted to give an update. I used it a few times during the week and it gets easier to use and cleans better each time I use it. I thought that the pet brush was going to require a learning curve to use and while it does it’s definitely a short one. I have been able to clean my couch, loveseat and recliner in two or three passes at this point. Now I want to give it a real workout. I let the vacuuming go for two weeks. I would dust pan up the loose litter from my cats, but no vacuuming. It was definitely a trial for all of us. At the end of two weeks I had enough shed cat hair on my couch to have made another cat and there was practically no corner of the apartment where there wasn’t litter. Ok, this is a definite work out for any vacuum. I figured that there was no way that I was going to get all the cat hair up and have the floors pass my barefoot test. So I set the navigator to the task. I did have to make extra passes on the floor to get up all the litter, but it did get every piece up and the floors did pass my barefoot test. Next onto the furniture. Again extra passes were required to get at all of the cat hair and since I did let it go I had to give them an extra cleaning, but lo and behold everything is once again fur free. I am impressed. At this point I would have to wonder how much better Dyson or Miele would have to clean in order to beat the results I’ve been getting with the Navigator.

This is great mid to large vacuum, great for pets and kids, easy to clean, the front has lights, swivel heads. Hose is easily accessible and easy to use for edging rooms, lift away feature is great for stairs, has a large cleat canister so you can see when it’s full, really long cord and great suction

I’ve had about every brand vacuum (Dyson, Bissell, Hoover etc) and I finally decided to try out a Shark. So far so good!! I have a lab who sheds a TON so I needed a vacuum that would suck hair off hardwoods (LED light is a must), carpet and shag rugs. I searched for days and finally decided on this one. It works so good!! This picture came from my shag rug after 2 days without a vacuum!! So gross, but so glad this vacuum really does the job! The liftoff is great for stairs and the LED light really shows you what’s on the hardwoods. The cord length is shorter than what I’d like, but it’s not a deal breaker. Picks up a lot of dust and has great suction!

Ok, at first, I was thinking I fell into the hype of a “Shark” vacuum.I was thinking this really doesn’t work much better than my Bissell.I was wrong!NOTE: If you think it’s not picking up well look for the spin thing near the handle, this controls the suction!Mine was wide open, then I closed it and WOW, amazing suction. It’s a little awkward at first with the roller ball motion but you get used to it.One thing I don’t like is the way the canister attacheds to the base. You have to unlatch both sides to life up and then the hair and dust gets stuck at both ends ofthe canister, luckily it opens on both sides. We have 3 Labs so this vacuum is going to earn it’s keep that’s for sure.I don’t think I would pay $250 for it but I got it on Prime day and saved quite a bit, so I amglad I made the purchase as my Bissell, although still working can’t even compare to the Shark.

I originally bought this vacuum cleaner probably 10 to 15 years ago and it has been absolutely amazing the entire time. When I first ordered my replacement I got a different version that was a little bit cheaperWhen it arrived I realized it wasn’t the same quality as this one so I returned it and got this one insteadI’m glad I did because this vacuum does an incredible job… and… all my extra attachments from the original vacuum fit on this one too.it pretty much drives itself and works well on all surfaces – even with lots of pet hair – and easily reaches all areas. The lift away is super handy. The long skinny attachment is big enough to reach down into the furniture – longer than the ones that come with most of the other versions.I’m looking forward to another 10 to 15 years of a great product. I might even buy a backup before they run out :)This is worth the extra dollars
