Not big into writing reviews but, I do read them before I buy. I did not buy this based on reviews I bought it out of desperation. There was a lingering unpleasant odor in my refer..I emptied it, wiped every inch down with peroxide..smell left for about 4 days and then it was back???? The item was prime so I could always return and for $20 decided to try. It has been in the refer for 3 days and the odor is GONE and I do mean GONE..will this work for 10 years, don’t care at my age I probably won’t last for 10 years, I do know if it lasts 6 months and needs to be replaced, I WILL happily order another one…

Haven’t had this item long enough to comment on its longevity. However its doing the job of keeping unwanted odors at bay! I’m using it in our RV frig. Now that frig is running all summer because our rig is permanently parked in an RV resort. So ‘said’ frig can remain unopened for a week or so at a time. Not that I’d leave perishable foods unattended that long but I might have creamer (with a 3 week shelf life) or wrapped cheeses stored in my frig. Even certain plastics are poreress. Water bottles, ketchup, mustards and dressings aren’t something I’m going to discard after a week or so, this unit is doing a great job! Inflation is REAL so who has the extra $$ to keep replacing items we don’t have too?! For now..THIS product is doing its job!

I bought a new frig in February, immediately I bought one of these and it doesn’t work in the least. I am very sad because I was wanting something else besides baking soda to work in my frig. Waste of my time & money. Shopping now for a cute animal to put my baking soda.

My entire life, I have hated that “fridge” kind of smell that transfers into food and drinks. Nothing seems to have ever eliminated it entirely – except this wee gadget! Will it last 10 years? I can’t say, but I’m blown away by how good it’s working now. I popped some leftover curry in there 2 nights ago, just on a plate with some cling film, and you wouldn’t even know it, there’s no smell at all. Great product.

I was hoping for results as great as the description says they were, and I’ve actually gotten 4 of them in hopes, but my place still has the bad odor of dirt from outside (me being in a basement, and you look out to the grass/ street, so the wing blows, and dirt come right in if you leave your window open for fresh air), and cat urine. I first tried one in the fridge, and yes, it blocks the stink from the food in there, but not from elsewhere. So I was very let down from what I was expecting and in hopes of.

I had my doubts about this, but it really does work! I knew that it was coming in the mail, so I purposefully left a few things in my fridge that should’ve been thrown away and allowed an onion to pollute the air as well….it was my own experiment, because how else would I know if it truly worked? LOL Well, when it came early that next evening, I put it in the fridge overnight and to my surprise the next morning, there was no smell at all! If I didn’t know any better, I would’ve thought that I had scrubbed my fridge out the day before… I was stunned! Of course, I quickly cleaned those items out of the fridge and it’s been fresh fridge ever since! No more hassles with baking soda and trying to remember to change the box or anything of the sort. The size is perfect. It actually looks nice, kinda gives the inside of the fridge, a little upgrade and when you actually sit down and do the math, it’s really worth it in the end. Now I only wish they would make something for the freezer, I would be first in line!

I had remnants of freezer burn odor in the Drawer refrigerator freezer- (After I had already cleaned it out thoroughly with Vinegar, water, and essential oil Lemon mixture. ) Previously, I had been using baking soda to capture odor. After cleaning, I threw them out and added activated bamboo charcoal bags- They were doing the trick and got rid of 90% of the odor in the last month- each week I saw an improvement. I tried the ionizer that is battery operated and although I did see a positive result, in that it was very effective in the refrigerator, but had only a small effect in the freezer. I thought I would try this Deodorizer next – maybe it would be better. I put it in my freezer for about an hour – started to smell something funny in the air outside of the fridge – sort of like thin air when you go up in altitude. It started to feel a little harder to breathe activating my asthma. I then removed it and put it in an airtight bag. I will say that it most definitely did help in only that hour to remove freezer burn odor. For the 2nd time after the cleaning, I had changed the plastic bags in the freezer a few weeks ago – they had already developed some remaining light freezer burn odor. After the hour with this deodorizer, it was as gone! This thing removed it! It is also interesting to note that I had a light film of frost on my bags. My freezer is -6 and I suspect this is the result of gas conversion to carbon dioxide and water! It is awesome- I will keep it and use weekly when I leave the house for the day and remove it when I return. It is just too good!

After several thorough cleanings, my fridge still had a strange odor.. I saw this reviewed favorably in a New York Times Wirecutter column and decided to give it a try. Within 3 days, the odor was gone, and the fridge has remained odor free ever since. I’m quite happy with this purchase — and a big bonus is that unlike a baking soda box, it won’t tip over and spill powdery stuff all over the place. I’d definitely buy another one if this one gives out.
