This fan is very well made and moves a lot of air.

Renovating our house, so pardon the dust. I’ve bought three of these now. For the money, they are incredible. Easy to install. Super quiet. Well balanced. Remote is easy. You can add light kits that are super easy to put on when you install it, or after the fact. Pretty sure I’m buying stock in this company

Easy enough installation and set up. Looks great, works quietly and does cool our patio. However, don’t expect a tornado: it’s definitively the least powerful fan in our house. But the quiet operation and chic looks make up for it.

This looks great on the 20 foot ceiling of our cottage!! Has an industrial look that we like, and is huge so it fills up the space. The fan has a lot of speed options, which is great. I am amazed at how silent it is, given the size of the blades. We keep it on at a low speed all the time in the summer, just so the air in the room gets recirculated. I’d highly recommend this and would definitely buy a Minka again.

Fan never turned enough to move much air. Stopped working less than 3 years old. Not worth the money.

The media could not be loaded.

I am a general contractor and install 20-30 mid range fans a year. This fan has a fairly high price ticket for the quality. The blades are so long, they already have some minor sag to them. We’ll see how they hold up in the summer heat. The remote is a joke. It takes a fairly expensive 12v battery that is smaller than a AAA. Using the remote can be very confusing due to the delay on the fan. After you press a desired speed (1-6) it can take as long as 10 seconds for the fan to start rotating (and sometimes starts by rotating backwards first, a little bounce back from the brushless motor) One of the upper valence pieces was almost 1/8” too small in diameter to actually cover the screws it is designed to hide. The screws that attach the fan blades will give you some anxiety too… as they only grab 2 or so threads (maybe one full turn) and I can’t help but think that some may vibrate out. High speed seems a bit slow to me. Air flow is just ok. The speed controller for this brushless motor seems to work very slowly. Kitchler remotes with dc motor fans seem to work much better. If this fan is the look you want, go for it. But just know there are some definite quality issues that I usually don’t see on $150 fans.

I installed three of these units on the lower back patio. They don’t spin up like an airplane, but create nice air movement silently. Mine are on 3 foot drop rods, and balanced perfectly out of the box. I don’t bother with the remote (although I coded all with the same code), just wired them to a switch after setting them on ‘summer’ air flow direction and high speed. The directions for the assembly were straight forward, there was plenty of lead wires for an even longer drop rod, but remote programming was a little bit squirrelly. I am very pleased with this fan.

I really wanted to like this fan. It looks great, and I have the smaller version in a room and it provides plenty of air. However, I mounted this fan in a pavilion, gave it adequate clearance to enhance circulation (24″) and it produced the lightest breeze. That’d probably be fine for a $300 fan, but this was way more than that. Also, I didn’t like reading the about the reliability of the fan. If you purchase, I’d pay for the extra warranty/repair option (add. service plan).

Do not buy this product from anyone and do not buy any product form this vendor. This is not a “fan”. A fan by definition moves air. This device simply spins around consuming electricity. The technical specifications for the amount of airflow from these fans is misleading. The company that makes this fan (Minka Aire Group) uses “exclusive” distributors, Alcove Lighting in this case, which serves a a cut out for the manufacturer. The distributor is responsible for any product quality or return issues. The distributor in my case would not answer their phone and do not return messages left on their voice mail. Therefore it was impossible to get a return authorization within the 30 period and I am stuck with over $1K of big spinney things when I thought I was buying a big ceiling fan. This is deceptive trade on both the part of the manufacture and their exclusive distributor. If you are interested in their products let me know. I will sell you two 84″ Minka Aire Extreme fans for the price shipping and handling.

Plastic fan blades. Too expensive to have plastic fan blades.
