UPDATE: 5 months later, this vacuum is still going strong! Zero issues, very handy, and does an amazing job of cleaning my home with shedding dogs. One feature that is fantastic which I did not mention earlier, is the ability to easily remove/clean the roller. Dyson never made anything easy. I referred my friends (also Dyson owners) to this vacuum and they are loving it as well :)I have had Dyson vacuums (2 of them) for the past 15 years. I have 3 large dogs that shed a lot and dark hardwood floors that show everything. I am a bit OCD when it comes to a clean house, so I vacuum daily (as well as I have a Roomba that runs daily). Though my floors looked clean after I vacuumed, the Roomba would find all sorts of hair and dirt that the vacuum had missed. My last Dyson (which is only 2 years old) would take forever to vacuum up hair or dirt (I had taken it to the Dyson repair center and they couldn’t find anything wrong with it). I was looking at buying another Dyson but they are expensive, so I started looking at other options. My options were limited, as I needed a 35-foot cord (I have a large house) and not many vacuums have that long of a cord (and even Dyson only offers a 35- foot cord on some models). I saw his Eureka and the price was right, so I thought I’d give it a chance. WOW! I’ve only had it for a few days but damn, I’m impressed. It sucks up dirt and hair in seconds and I only have to make one pass (unlike the Dyson where I would have to make multiple passes). The head is not as wide as my Dyson so I thought it would take me longer to vacuum, but it actually takes me less time since I only have to make one pass over an area. I also love that the Eureka is considerably less heavy than the Dyson, since I have multiple floors, and carrying the vacuum up and down the stairs is a workout. The ONLY con (which probably won’t affect most people) is I use the hose and wand on all the stairs. The Dyson hose and wand were connected, so it took just a second to pull it off the Dyson and get to work. The Eureka is not constantly connected, so it is a bit of a hassle (but really not that big of a deal) that I have to connect the hose and wand, to vacuum the stairs. If you want a vacuum that is better than Dyson but 1/4 of the price, go with this Eureka!

BUY IT. I was wanting to get a “nice” vacuum but couldn’t afford the “nice” vacuum prices. After reading through reviews on what felt like a million vac listings, I bit the bullet and decided on this one. The suction is AMAZING. I have lots of pets and dirty kids. This vac seriously sucks it all away! I didn’t realize I had a literal LAYER of filth my shop vac was apparently never even touching when vacuuming my carpets. The attachments are perfect. Picks up pet hair like no other. Moving from carpet to hardwood is seamless and incredible. If something is lodged in the roller brush, the brush will shut off immediately and will trigger the red light. So it doesn’t allow you to just keep on going and destroy the vacuum with random crap your kids left under the couches. The swivel works perfectly. The design is sleek and not crazy bulky, while also being tall enough you don’t have to hunch over. Literally the only downside I’ve found is that it doesn’t perfectly vacuum up litter… but most don’t, so it’s not a huge deal. Also, don’t be like me… read the instructions;) turns out you have to press a button to trigger the brush roll, I thought it was broken. But that’s because I didn’t read. 10/10 recommend this vacuum!

THE GOOD:-Good suction power and the ability to strengthen/weaken that suction power on the hose tube. Be careful running over threads on rugs or any strings/headphones, etc. on the floor. It will suck them up fast!-It’s nice that the bottom cover can be removed very easily using a coin (see picture) if something gets stuck or if hair, etc. needs to be removed from the roller. my old vacuum was held in place with six screws.-Very easy to steer- Pet hair roller, while the bristles only turn with the suction of the vacuum, can often stop. It still works well for vacuuming out the car and floor mats- Washable filters will be nice to save money on throwaway ones. Instructions say to let dry for 24 hours but mine needed three days to totally dry.- Good value for the priceROOM FOR IMPROVEMENT:- This vacuum should but doesn’t come with the beige 4 inch attachment from my old vacuum shown in my photo and my old one is the same diameter as this hose so they can’t connect. I use it to clean countertops of food and dust before I wash them and also use the attachment it on the stairs. The only option with this one for something like that is the small round end of the hose or the bristled dusting brush. Further, by not having the flexibility of an extension hose, using the handle as the extension hose means the vacuum has to be three feet away from the edge of the counter and I can’t make tight angles An extension hose with a short end would make it much easier to vacuum sharper angels. I’ve looked at three hardware stores for a PVC pipe that would connect them but haven’t found one, yet.- I don’t like the angled piece for using the hose. It’s awkward and doesn’t help.-While the removable handle is nice because it allows for storage in smaller closets like mine, I would rather have an extension hose.-The cord attaches very low on the machine and has to be held in place by my fingers up on the handle. Otherwise I trip on it every five feet.- The pictures show this nice & easy push button maneuver to completely empty the canister, but you’ll still have to stick you hand up in it to remove the clumps of hair. Not too big of a deal for me, though-As expected it comes in a very large box and would be very tempting for a porch pirate to run up and snag it. If you’re not positive you’ll be home, arrange for a pickup at one of the Amazon pickup locations near you.

Well designed. Like being able to easily empty the collection container instead of changing bags. Love the push button cord retriever. The suction is adequate. The attachments work well

I was looking for a basic vacuum cleaner. I don’t have an awfully large townhouse, and most of it is tile or laminate. I just needed something to do basic floor vacuuming, and To have a decent hose to be able to vacuum furniture and area rugs. I got exactly what I paid for, a very cheap vacuum.First let me give you the positives, decently suction on wood or laminate floors, and lightweight. That’s it!The negatives? Where shall I start. The hose to vacuum furniture is so tight, that you really can’t stretch it out to use on anything past your arm length. The suction is horrible, and it has these adjustable vents to help you get “stronger section” which absolutely don’t work at all. The front of the vacuum has a filtering system with a plastic cover. Anytime you bump the front of the vacuum into any piece of furniture the cover flies off. It also has a button so that the brush on the bottom can help remove lint and hair, the only problem is that the lint does not get sectioned up into the machine and stays within the brush. So when you go to vacuum something else all the hair comes off onto the carpet .All the materials on this are made out of very cheap crappy plastic. That includes the handles all the attachment parts the various unhelpful suction vents, the hoses and attachments. I know vacuums are not made the way they used to be, and I was looking for a vacuum to get me through maybe two years. This is not gonna make it. It’s such a frustrating experience to vacuum anything in my house, and I’m already looking for another one. ( I just bought this in August.) Please spend the extra money and get a better quality vacuum, because this is the worst one I’ve ever owned and I am in my 50s! 😠

I first bought this model years ago and my kids finally broke it. Even though there’s newer models out, I decided to purchase this exact one again. I love how bright the lights are, I love the attachments, & I love how easy it is to clean. It’s a tad heavier than expected knowing you do need to lift it at times, but I still love it!!

UPDATE TO MY ORIGINAL REVIEW BELOW DO NOT BUY THIS VACUUM.I was going to return. Before I did I was like hmm let me give it another try. (The first time I used it…I realized I hated it and it was junk everything about it was horrible I was angry I didn’t $180 wasn’t worth more than $50). 3 minutes I had it on for 3 MINUTES. The vacuum started to smell like it was burning as soon as I noticed the smell I turned it off and went to unplug it. Where the vacuum meets the floor was on fire! By the time my rug caught fire the damage was done. I had to get the fire extinguisher after rushing the vacuum outside where it stayed in fire just freaking melting in flames. Fire dept had to stay in hotel because of smoke damage. AMAZON REFUSES TO ASSIST ME. They want the vacuum back the fire dept took the dang thing. I had to put a claim in on my homeowners insurance. To say I am beyond disappointed and sick is an understatement. I do think I am going to make a video to post on social media because what happened to my family, my home and I because of this junk of junk is not okay.THIS WAS MY FIRST REVIEW: It was delivered today. I was super excited to have finally bought myself a new vacuum I took it out right away to use it. I paid $163/$178 with tax. My vacuum that is 6 years old sucks better than this thing. It blows what you need to vacuum up everywhere! The only thing that is good is that it’s light weight and the lights are bright. What is bad….. the power cord gets really hot fast, the vent gets really hot as well. The power cord after using twice is already having issue rolling back in.. the power cord is not really 25ft like you literally only vacuum one room at a time. The tools are dainty and you have to remove the handle, then the hose, then the tool and the hose doesn’t suck anything up. It doesn’t lift the dirt or dog hair…..like this thing has no power to it. I am so disappointed. I am so sick of spending my hard earned money on junk that does not work as advertised. The material it is cheap plastic flimsily and you can physically see the cheapness. I am hoping to return this I’d rather by a cheap one from Walmart. Such a waste of my time and money. These companies keep selling us junk.

I’ve only had it a week or 2 and so far it seems good. It’s light weight which I needed because of my shoulders and the pain. So this is easier to push. I liked the lights in the front but the only thing is I don’t like that you have to push your foot on the front of vacuum to make it go back before you vacuum!! I thought there was a pedal but nope. It sounds like it’s going to break everytime I do it and you have no choice, you have to do it in order to vacuum! So we will see about this vacuum as time goes on. Also the one attachment piece for vacuuming couch or stairs , that falls off front non stop and it doesn’t stay. It fell off the last time and all the pieces came apart! And it fell on carpet before I even started to vacuum. So not sure how to get it back together now! So a few things I’m not happy with and sometimes I wonder how good the strength is as far a sucking up cat hair and stuff. It’s so light weight but I change the controls on it and it seems ok but Again I wanted to try it because of lights. I have 2 cats shedding right now so I hope it’s really doing its job. But not a bad vacuum. My house is all carpet except the kitchen so I need a powerful vacuum that lasts longer then months or a year. Oh and the rewind cord I love! No more dragging cords or having to wrap it! So just find a different spot for the one piece because mine never stays. Other then that it’s fine!

I’m an experienced homeowner and have owned many vacs over the years. We’ve purchased low-end, short-term vacs for the kids’ college years and high-end machines for the busy family household years. I bought this one to replace a much older version of itself, and I’m as happy with this one as I was with the first one.Nice, bright LED light; super-easy to assemble; light-weight & easy to carry; self-contained with all of the attachments hooked onto the vac; convenient retractable, long cord; great suction & coverage; not too loud on carpets; fits well underneath furniture legs; easy, adjustable carpet heights and bare floor selections. The on switch is a foot control, then you have to hold down the roller section with your foot and pull back on the handle to drive the vac. It’s a loud plastic clunk, but that’s the way that it works, so time will tell how long it lasts. I have not used the attachments, and I don’t need to pick up animal hair, so I can’t comment on those aspects. It picked up adequately on a bare tile floor, although a little loud running over an uneven hard surface. The canister is easy to release & empty. Not a bad, medium-priced vac, overall.

My fancy pants high dollar hepa filter vacuum died a couple of days ago. I ordered this Eureka Powerful Lightweight Upright Vacuum and it arrived today. Unboxed, plugged in and it sucked up dirt!!! Seriously, this thing is powerful enough to suck the eyeballs out of a gopher at 50 paces. I highly recommend.
