I received this as a mother’s day gift this year because my other one bit the dust the week before the holiday. I decided to try a Shark this time based solely on reviews because I didn’t want to spend as much as I would need to for a Dyson and while my previous Hoover was great, it sounded like the Shark’s had better suction. This one definitely had better suction than my previous Hoover of a very similar type. I am a mom of a toddler, an infant and a pitbull and they keep my floors nice and crumby, so I use my vacuum every other day (at least). I needed something “heavy duty”, strong, but easy to use. This fit the bill.Pros- Strong suction and it’s pretty lightweight. I’m a small woman (5 foot tall), so this is very important to me.- After vacuuming just once I am AMAZED (and disgusted) by the amount of stuff (hair, dirt, crumbs, etc) this thing sucks up. We don’t wear shoes in our home, so it’s mind boggling.- Long cord so you don’t have to keep unplugging and plugging it in constantly. I think it goes a bit further than my Hoover did.- It’s easy to release the hose to use it. On my previous Hoover I had to detach the hose, attach it to a certain place on the vacuum and switch the mode on it. With this one I just hit a button and it detaches. No hitting a switch and no having to remove the hose and attach it elsewhere.- It’s easy to dump out the cup.- The roller has not needed to be cleaned yet. I was routinely cutting hair and string off the old roller of the old vacuum. My dog loves to destroy toys and so our home is usually strewn with stuffing, string and bit of fabric that eventually clog up the vacuum. No roller issues or clogging issues with this one so far.- It looks nice and has a nice color to it. Yeah, okay, so that doesn’t “matter”, but it kind of does when it’s sitting in a visible place in your home. You don’t want a ugly eye sore hanging around.Cons- Okay, so this was a MAJOR one for me: The suction is SO STRONG that I can’t use it on the area rugs in my boys rooms. They have a thick shag rug in both of their rooms (same rug) and it definitely will hide debris. The suction is so strong that the vacuum just gets stuck in place. This was a major issue for me and I honestly thought “I need to send this back”, but I figured I could use one of the attachments (the wide one with nubs on it) and the hose to do their rugs. Fortunately, their rooms are small and the rugs are only 5×7. While I wish I could just use the vacuum normally to do their rooms, it’s a trade off for the suction power that it has. It doesn’t take too long to use the hose to get their carpets, but I’m always concerned about “missing a spot” because I’m using a little attachment and not the whole vacuum that covers a wide area.- The canister part of the vacuum seems very wide and clunky. It doesn’t seem to affect my ability to tilt the vacuum to go under furniture, but it certainly “feels” clunky because it sits so far forward compared to the roller part.Regarding the fact it does not work well on area rugs, I recommend getting a little Shark hand vac. I got a cordless one at the same time as this vacuum and it’s really super useful for small messes and for getting the area rugs when I don’t feel like getting out the big vacuum.

I have long hair, two cats, and a toddler, so suction is super important when looking for a vacuum. This one exceeded my expectations! I love the suction control feature so you can crank it up a little bit when you hit a tough spot. Great on regular carpet, and on area rugs! I had no issue with it pulling up the area rugs, but it still did a great job cleaning them.

Game changer! If in doubt, just try this vacuum! I am not a dirty person and do vacuum quite regularly. One sweep over with this vacuum and I was embarrassed for myself! I would post the pics of all the stuff I picked up but you would definitely think I keep a dirty house! If you have kids that crawl on the floor or pets, you definitely have got to give this a try. It is lightweight, easy to assemble, great suction power and I love that you can control the airflow because my living room carpet is a thicker pile than some of my other rooms. It swivels nicely though it took me a minute to get used to it. The noise is comparable to other vacuums. I got it mainly for the brush anti-tangler but now I’m just sold on the whole thing. The only thing that could make it better is a retractible cord but I am okay giving that feature up for everything else.

After an extensive vacuum-purchasing rampage, I bought, used, and returned this vacuum, but it genuinely is a good vacuum.The size is great and it’s very lightweight. Great suction, decent attachments though you can only store one on board, and simple controls. Very easy to maneuver. Smaller canister and nozzle head, but would be great for a smaller space.It does NOT have headlights, which once you go headlights you cannot go back. It also trades being lightweight for being kinda cheap feeling, very plastic-y. Also the release controls for the Lift-Away and wand are kinda funky, both are latches and just don’t feel super intuitive.Otherwise I enjoyed using it and it works well, just not a high-end Shark option and it shows.

My 2014 Dyson wasn’t working well so after some research I bought this Shark vacuum. It’s LOADED with convenient features and did a wonderful job picking up stuff on my floors.Features include- fin style brush rills that deter hair wrap and are self cleaning; lift away option is easy to use; the dirt container is set up and back so the vac goes under the edges of furniture; swivel handle; lightweight.My only complaint is that the on-board storage for the 2 accessories could be more secure

This is an excellent vacuum. It’s very well made and sturdy. One thing is you have GOT to do periodically disassemble it, rinse the filters and INSIDE of the hose, and open the bottom part with a screwdriver (you’ll see 3 screws that don’t fully come out but they release the bottom plate so you can clean the brush roll) or else it will eventually stop working. Once I figured that out and did this deep clean, it started working like new again. I have now had mine 4 years and highly recommend it. It works on my carpets with pet and human hair, as well as hardwood floors that have loose litter from my cat’s zoomies after jumping out of the litter box.

It’s great. Does a super job (we have a cat), light, great on different height carpets. The price for feature was nice. To be honest I’m not a fan of the swivel head (old school) but now that I’m getting used to it, it’s fine. easy to clean. I expect it to last a long time and not need to get another one; but if/when I do, I will for sure look to Shark and my choice.

This is such a great vacuum!! Easy to put together, multifunction For hardwood floors and carpet with a switch of a button. The suction is fantastic. I was blown away by how much dirt and dust came out of one small patch of carpet when I vacuumed the day before with my old one. Easy to push and turn. It’s a little heavy, but I like that. Surprisingly, pretty quiet. Easy to empty canister. Release buttons for hose handle and extended wand, handle to reach high places or low baseboards. I hope this vacuum lasts a while, and as long as it does, I will probably never purchase another vacuum brand/type again. I plan to maintain all of the required maintenance and clean it after each years to prolong its life. Highly recommend.!

I bought this baby because I live in a three story townhome and all my stairs are carpet (lucky me). Everytime its time to vacuum my stairs again I die a little inside because its such a pain to do with my current vacuum. I bought this because it comes apart and I can carry it up the stairs easily. I tried it out today on my stairs and it was great! It only took me like 5 minutes what used to take me 30. And the amount of dirt and whatever that came up was slightly horrifying. Then I did a quick vacuum of my living room and this picture is what came up from a little 5 minute run. I used my Roomba yesterday. I got this on prime day and so far it is worth every penny. Great price for the suction power. Hopefully it lasts!

In my household we have two people with waist length hair, two long haired cats and two short haired cats. I’ve tried many vacuums over the years while attempting to keep our home as clean as possible and they never last.This is my second Shark and I am in love with this brand! They don’t tangle very much and they get the job done! The only reason this is my second is that I made a mistake while cleaning the vacuum and damaged it.
